Birdsong Bond-style for Faulks

Posted on Friday 7 December 2007

Sebastian Faulks has been commissioned by Ian Flemings’s family to take up where Fleming left off fourdevilmaycare.jpg decades ago. The artwork for the cover of the 15th Bond book was unveiled on Monday 3rd December and features the model Tuuli Shipster, muse of the British photographer, Rankin.

The novel, entitled Devil May Care, will be published on May 28th 2008 to mark the centenary of Fleming’s birth. According to Faulks 80% of the 007 novel is written in Fleming’s style.

The market for first editions of Fleming’s 007 novels is big. Bloomsbury Auctions London sold a first edition of Ian Fleming’s Casino Royale for £24,000 (including buyers premium) at an auction on Thursday 6th of December.
